2009 Show Message
A very warm welcome is extended to all exhibitors and patrons as we once again take pleasure in presenting an exciting program of events aimed at combining the traditions of rural life and city living.
Continuing the trend of recent Shows our animal exhibits are attracting more varieties and increased entries, with the goat section now being second only to the Royal Show. Horse and donkey events will again attract large crowds as will the interesting range of exhibits on display in the hall, marquees and pavilions around the grounds.
Side show alley will be bigger than ever and the Mazzega’s Mitre 10 Firework spectaculars will cap off each day’s show time excitement.
Our sincere appreciation is extended to all the sponsors, exhibitors and army of workers who contribute so much to make the Kelmscott Annual Show such a successful community event.

Post 2008 Show Message
An especially big thank you is extended to the huge number of volunteers and organizations that, once again, combined really well to host yet another successful Kelmscott Annual Show. Without this assistance it would not be possible to run this event, which is the largest held in the south east metropolitan area, each year.
Exhibit entries in most areas were up on recent years and a great big thank you is extended to all Stewards for the work that they and their army of helpers put into the individual displays. The exhibits were a real credit to all concerned. It was particularly pleasing to have such a good display of cattle returning to the Show and another great set of exhibits and displays on show in the Hall, Flower Pavilion and Schools Pavilion.
Once again the horse and donkey events proved popular and special thanks are extended to the Wallangarra Horse and Pony Club and the Donkey Society for hosting these sections. Sheep and goat entries are continuing to rise, commanding more space and improved facilities each year.
While down on stall numbers, the Craft Area was the most successful for 18 years, according to one operator, and all Stall Holders were very pleased with their day’s trading. The main reason for this was the introduction of the Bouncy Castle, which helped maintain a good crowd in the area.
Entertainment around the grounds and in the marquee on the Old Pool Site proved very popular and the Log Chop operating on both days drew good crowds. Sideshow alley was particularly good this year with a greatly increased number of rides, which were popular with all age groups.
Attendances were up on previous years and this, no doubt, reflects the ever increasing population of our region.
Initial planning for the 2009 Show has already commenced and anyone interested in becoming involved with the hosting of this great yearly event is urged to contact us by email. Volunteers are always welcome, no matter how much or how little time they have to contribute.
